As part of our commitment to making a difference in our community, MarxModa will use sales of this limited-edition product to raise money and awareness for OutRight Action International. Since their founding in 1990, OutRight's mission has been to improve the lives of people who experience discrimination or abuse on the basis of their real or perceived sexual orientation, gender identity or expression. They work to research, document, defend, and advance human rights for all LGBTIQ people around the world.
OutRight Action International is the first and only U.S.-based LGBTIQ human rights organization to obtain consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). From their global office in New York City, OutRight voices the concerns and perspective of the LGBTIQ community, ensuring they are included in the conversations, debates, and decisions being made throughout all levels of government.
OutRight's work operates on a continuum as they work to advocate for and influence positive change. The focus on:
Activism: OutRight partners directly with activists to champion advocacy and extend their capacity in the fight for human rights.
Training: OutRight conducts training on LGBTIQ rights documentation and advocacy helping partners and activists formulate tactics and strategies.
Research: OutRight tracks and documents discriminatory or life-threatening conditions faced by LGBTIQ people and advocates for action to halt these violations.
Inspiration: OutRight shares news and cultural updates by, for, and about the LGBTIQ community and those working to advocate for their rights.
