Founded in 2003, Hightower offers seamless access to fresh, unique designs for today's workspaces.

We spend 90% of our time indoors, so our indoor environment has an outsized impact on our health. And yet, we're only beginning to investigate those impacts and how to mitigate them. We've tightened up our building envelope, thus decreasing ventilation and trapping pollution. We're also using products in our interior spaces that emit harmful VOCs. Because of this, we see negative effects on our health and cognitive functioning. How do we measure the cost, and how do we invest in solving this problem? During this 45-minute CEU we will look at the quality of air in indoor environments, how it affects us, and how design can support healthy air quality.

Course Content:

  • The evolution and relevance of indoor air quality.
  • The health and financial implications of indoor air quality.
  • How ventilation and chemical concentrations impact indoor air quality.
  • Which interior products are critical to indoor air quality.
  • Certifications for VOC emissions.

This CEU is accredited through IDCEC/IIDA. Members of other organizations including AIA and GBCI will be provided with a certificate of completion following the course that they may use to self-report for potential credit through their organization.
